SENSING THE PERFUMER
Sensing the perfumer is a project which aims to connect perfume passionates with Berlin-based perfumers. How? Very simple, the Smell Lab organizes a guided visit to their working core environments, the perfumer lab. The objective is to bring people who're passionate about perfumery closer to the creators and their environment, establishing connections between professionals and fragrance lovers.

Sensing the Perfumer - Christophe Laudamiel
Firday 15 June, 17h -19h
During our next "Sensing the perfumer" meet up we will visit Christophe Laudamiel.
Christophe is a French master perfumer, scent sculptor and chemist champion based in New York City. Founding member of DreamAir® studios www.dreamair.nyc and the creative mind behind newly launched The Zoo® brand www.thezoo.nyc , he is known for his avant-garde work, establishing a trail of signature, high-end fragrances of all kinds, often doubled with special technologies or artistic stretch-the-boundaries initiatives. “In my opinion, he is the greatest inventor of novel perfume structures working today,” Luca Turin wrote (2016). Perfumers & Flavorists called him last year Perfumer of the Future. He is the only perfumer officially represented by 2 art galleries (New York and Berlin) and the first ever winner of the Los Angeles Institute for Art and Olfaction Award for “Exceptional Contribution to Scent Culture” (2017). His collaborations with some of the largest institutions in the world from fashion houses including several American Top Ten, renown universities, embassies, and museums are second to none. During our next Sensing the Perfumer meet up, we will meet and chat with Geza Schoen, a Berlin-based niche perfumer with a reputation of being a rebel in the fragrance world.
Geza was trained at Haarmann & Riemer (now Symrise). In 2001, disillusioned with the industry’s increasing commercialization, he resigned his job in Paris and moved to London, where in 2006 he would launch his project Escentric Molecules. Geza Schoen has collaborated with artists such as Wolfgang Georgsdorf (Smeller 2.0 / Osmodrama) and the Unsound Festival where he created a series of perfumes which connect scent and sound.
During our time together Geza will present some of his works and we will have the opportunity to talk to him.
